New Journal for 2016:

Journal of Modeling in Mechanics & Materials

Editor-in-chief: Professor Kim Meow Liew
published quarterly • ISSN 2057-35022015 journal prices/format options

The journal publishes original research work on the modeling of civil, ocean, mechanical and aerospace engineering systems, both small-scale and large-scale, with multidisciplinary applications, focusing on understanding and predicting material behaviors through modeling. However, its emphasis is not just on computational issues relating to modeling within Mechanics and Materials, but also on theoretical developments, computational techniques, experimental work and field investigations. Among the journal’s topics of interests are:

• Solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer and their interactions
• Nanomechanics and nanomaterials
• Renewable energy and energy harvesting materials and structures
• Biomechanics, mechanics in medicine and mechanobiology
• Composites and composite structures
• Ocean engineering and offshore structures
• Acoustic, vibration, dynamics and controls
• Mechanics of materials
• Multiphysics and multiscale mechanics
• Optimization, probabilistic and stochastic techniques

In the current world of Mechanics and Materials, researchers tend to focus on only one of the theoretical, computational or experimental works. While there is a trend towards interaction among the different groups, this is presently very limited. The editor-in-chief’s vision for the journal is for it to act as a platform from which to bring together the different kinds of research, to help researchers interact better, and to promote the state-of-the-art development of the subject area to a higher level.
