Acoustics Archive-on line offers access to some 40,000 acoustics related abstracts over the period 1996-2005*, from over 400 sources. The backfile is steadily being added, and it is envisaged that the database will go back as far as 1966, offering some 180,000 abstracts: the most complete and coherent database on 'acoustics' available anywhere.
Significant benefits for users of Acoustics Archive-on line:
the exceptionally wide range of sources scanned by the editorial team means that Acoustics Archive-on line contains a great deal of material no other service does: and this is all the more true the further back in time the data base goes
because of its interdisciplinary nature, much worthwhile acoustics material is published in non-specialist journals and conference proceedings - the editorial team go out of their way to seek out this work and bring it together, for the convenience of researchers
having all the data concentrated at one fast, easy to use site is a huge time-saver for researchers
searches can be made by keyword, in either the title or the abstract text, by author, by category - and there are other options too
because of the interdisciplinary nature of acoustics, especially in a university context, researchers from a number of departments will want to make use of Acoustics Archive-on line: mechanical engineers, electronic engineers, architectural/civil engineers, speech and hearing researchers, audio engineers, and those in the fields of NDT, signal processing, ultrasonics, transport and industrial health will all want to make use of Acoustics Archive-on line - so its a guaranteed good-value-for-money purchase (especially when you consider Multi-Science's policy of NOT charging for multiple use within an organisation!)
